It was a long day, even for Jesus;
First the news came that His cousin had died.
Then seeking quiet, wanting to mourn,
He got in his boat and left and probably cried.
And I've felt that feeling so many times.
I've let that feeling escape through my eyes.

Thank You, for being Jesus,
For putting on the same skin
That all of us are wearing,
So we would know that You know
Just how we feel.

Approaching land, He saw the crowd standing.
They'd followed Him on foot from their towns.
He chose compassion over exhaustion.
He healed their sick, and then He fed the whole crowd
With five loaves, two fish and a prayer up to heaven.
That once insufficient amount fed five thousand.

And on my weakest days you feel my pain,
And on my saddest nights you know just why.
You feel what's real to me.

Thank you for being Jesus
So we would know that You know
Just how we feel.

This is a favorite song of mine. I don't know the title or the artist who sings it, but it gives me a new perspective on Matthew chapter 14. If you keep reading the chapter, you'll see that His day did not end until well after midnight whenever he walked out onto the water to the disciples' boat.

That was really pretty. I wish you knew who sang it so I could look it up. Did you hear it on the radio?

Owen had a CD from when he took the teenagers to camp a few years ago, and it was on there. I never had the cover to the CD to find the name of the song.

Thats a great song. Sometimes I think my life is so busy I don't even have time to think but at least I get a day off every now and then. Jesus never had a day off from teach and healing.

Mrs. Dayna,
This is Jessie from FBC Pine Prairie! The weirdest thing happened tonight. My roommate was talking about this song and how she wishes she could find out who sings it, so we looked up the lyrics and found your page! It's a small world! How have y'all been? Miss y'all!

Jessie! I miss you!! I messaged you on FB.

This song brings back so many memories of you kids in Pine. You are all still so close to my heart.

Just this week a friend and I decided to make a recording of this song since I can't find it ANYWHERE! I'm glad that you and your roommate found my blog. :o)

I was looking for this song tonight, and came across your posting. I still have a recording of it! It has stuck with me since I got the Fuge Camo CD. The words are just so real! Glad someone else feels the same.

I leave always loved this song! A church friend of mine made me a mixed cd years ago with this song on it. I have looked for the title several times...
Did anyone ever figure anything out about the author or where to find the song? I would love to hear it again!
Thanks!
God Bless!

2021 and this song has been stuck in my head since I heard it on the Fuge Camp CD, and this is the only place I've found the lyrics. I wish I could hear the recording again. It's gorgeous!
