My Siblings

I have been blessed with a brother and sister who love me and whom I love beyond expression. The times when we all are together are not spent walking on egg shells, as in many families I know, but rather are fun and memorable. It's not so much the activities we do together that make it fun. Most of the time it's just playing a game or shopping or hanging out at someone's house. Angela always grabs the camera to take pictures of herself and Michael wants to "do something fun." I'm usually chasing my boys, hoping not to have to spend another night in the ER. The three of us are about as different in personalities as they come, but every time we get together, we have fun.

Our mom deserves most of the credit for this bond that we share. Through the years, Mama has somehow managed to instill in us that family is family and you stick together. It could have been the example she set in her relationship with her sister. It could have been the ban she put on clothes sharing when Angela and I started to fight over them. Maybe it was the times she spanked all three of us "just to make sure she got the right one!" Most likely, though, it's the countless hours she spends praying for us. For whatever reason, I am thankful to have Angela and Michael in my life and to know that no matter what happens, they will always love me and I them.

I really love it when we are all three together. It doesn't happen very often, but it's always fun. Why wasn't it this much fun when we were little back when we all had to live in the same house?

I don't know why it wasn't fun back then, but I'm glad it is now. And yeah I love Daddy, too! Maybe I should have mentioned his singing "I Love to Laugh" somewhere in there! ;o)

I always tell my hubby he is incredibly blessed to have grown up with his 4 siblings. In today's world of divorce and "shacking up", kids are lucky to grow up with both parents, let alone their brothers and sisters. So you're lucky/blessed to have that special bond. These are some of my favorite posts to read.

And I'm a blogging friend of Nikki's..wouldn't want you to think I'm a lurker, LoL.
